RYU MURAKAMI

The not so famous, however, super cool Murakami. If you have a "liking" for Japanese literature (which I find extremely underestimated) then Ryu Murakami is a strong suggestion. Not a magical realist as Haruki and way more hardcore. I donĀ“t ever think that I have read books with such an extreme underlying sinister atmosphere. He concentrates on the human psyche but described through themes as murder, obsession, psychological or concrete terror, sex and drugs. Begin by reading "In the Miso Soup."

Bon appetit.
